Habitat: 0 & l on Abies grandis, ll & lll on Chamaerion angustifolium, Epilobium anagallidifolium, E. montanum, E. palustre, E. roseum, Fuchsia magellanica and cultivars, and cultivated Clarkia amoena.

Notes: Common and widespread, especially on Chamaerion angustifolium. The fungus on Chamaerion is regarded by some authorities as a separate species, Pucciniastrum abieti-chamaenerii Kleb.
