Mycena rubromarginata (Fr.) P. Kumm., Führ. Pilzk. (Zwickau): 109 (1871)

Habitat: On decayed wood of conifers.

Notes: Not infrequently reported and apparently widespread but seldom collected. Mycena rubromarginata sensu Pearson (1955) is M. capillaripes and much of the herbarium material is this latter species.
