Habitat: On fallen wood, often moss-covered brash, and on the ground amongst needle litter of conifers such as Larix, Picea and Pinus spp. Also attached to stems of Calluna.
Notes: Apparently common and widespread but rarely collected, with few voucher specimens in herbaria. The majority of records and collections are from Scotland.
