Habitat: On decayed leaf litter in deciduous woodland. British material associated with Fagus.

Notes: Known (in Britain) only from the type collection from Surrey (Mickleham Downs). Reported from East Kent (Blean Woods) and Worcestershire (Wyre Forest), the former unsubstantiated with voucher material, the latter redetermined as H. tortuosa.
