Habitat: On dead wood of deciduous (rarely coniferous) trees and shrubs, usually small attached branches or twigs. Common on Ulex europaeus and Hedera. Rarely reported on Myrica gale, Prunus lauroceraceus, P. padus, Rosa canina and Cytisus scoparius. Single collections from a decayed cone of Pinus sylvestris and old dead stems of Fallopia japonica.
