Habitat: On decayed wood of conifers such as Larix, Picea, Pinus, Pseudotsuga, Tsuga and Taxus spp., usually on the cut ends of large logs or felled trunks. Very rarely on deciduous hosts but known on Alnus, Crataegus sp., Fagus, Fraxinus and Ilex.
