Habitat: On dead parts of standing trees, stumps or fallen wood of broadleaved trees, usually Fagus but also known on Acer pseudoplatanus, Betula spp., Fraxinus, Quercus robur and Ulmus spp.
Notes: Rather rare, but widespread especially in areas of old deciduous woodland. Most frequently reported from southern and south-western England.
