Habitat: On rich humic or nitrogenous soil, usually in deciduous woodland (but also known from conifer plantations) and often in nettlebeds with Urtica dioica in such habitat. May also fruit abundantly on flowerbeds mulched with shredded woodchips or bark.
Notes: Occasional but widespread, and apparently increasing in artificial habitat such as parks and gardens.
