Habitat: On decayed wood of conifers such as Picea and Pinus spp. Also known on Taxus. Very rarely on wood of deciduous trees such as Malus and Ulmus spp.

Notes: Occasional in England, and most frequently reported from southern counties. Rarely reported elsewhere but apparently widespread. Merulius fugax may be an earlier name.
