Habitat: On soil, often amongst mosses and associated with Pinus sylvestris or other two-needled Pinus spp., in boggy areas in woodland.

Notes: Occasional in Scotland, but may be locally common in Caledonian pinewoods. Rarely reported from England or Wales, and unsubstantiated with voucher material.
