Habitat: On leaves of Rhododendron ferrugineum, R. hirsutum and hybrids between them, producing large reddish 'apple galls'.
Notes: In Britain usually found on planted shrubs in gardens, apparently genuinely rare. Common in continental Europe, on wild plants in alpine habitat.
