Russula virescens (Schaeff.) Fr., Anteckn. Sver. Ätl. Svamp.: 50 (1836) Habitat: On soil, often with Quercus spp., in oakwoods but also said to be frequent with Fagus in mixed deciduous woodland.
Notes: Occasional in England. Rarely reported elsewhere but apparently widespread.
