Hygrophorus olivaceoalbus (Fr.) Fr., Epicr. syst. mycol. (Uppsala): 324 (1838) [1836-1838]

Agaricus olivaceoalbus Fr., Observ. mycol. (Leipzig) 1: 5 (1815)

Habitat: With Picea spp.

Notes: Accepted with doubt. 'Common' fide Rea (1922) but many older records are likely to be H. persoonii. In continental Europe this species is strictly associated with native Picea spp., but British records are all reported with deciduous trees. Very little material in herbaria, mostly in poor condition.
