Russula lateritia Quél., Compt. Rend. Assoc. Franç. Avancem. Sci. 13: 6 (extr.) (1885) [1884]

Habitat: On soil in woodland, associated with conifers.

Notes: Accepted with doubt. A single collection by Kits van Waveren reported by Rayner (1985), but no material has been traced. Reported from West Sussex in 1996 but said to be associated with Carpinus betulus and unsubstantiated with voucher material.
