Habitat: On decayed wood of deciduous trees such as Fagus but the most recent British material was on decayed wood of Picea sp.
Notes: Supposedly common but rarely reported. Collected on conifers in Devon in 2003 but prior to this the last collection in herb. K was in 1937. Should be easily recognisable as actively growing basidiomes stain wood bright red.
