Habitat: On very decayed wood of deciduous trees. Most frequent on Ulmus spp., less so on Fagus and Fraxinus. Also known on Acer pseudoplatanus, Populus and Quercus spp.

Notes: Occasional but widespread in England, from Yorkshire southwards. Rarely reported elsewhere. Several taxa have been described based on possibly transient colour differences.
