Clavaria ligula Schaeff., Fung. bavar. palat. nasc. (Ratisbonae) 4: 116 (1774)

Habitat: On soil in swampy woodland. British collection associated with Betula sp.

Notes: Apparently rare and only in Scotland (last collected at Aviemore in 1953). Reported several times from England but the single vouchered collection was misidentified, and all other records are unsubstantiated.
