Habitat: On sandy or well drained soil, often along roadsides. Frequently with Tilia spp.
Notes: Occasional but widespread. Previously regarded as a variety of Scleroderma verrucosum, but the presence of clamp connections and a reticulate spore ornament indicates no such relationship.
