Habitat: Epigeous or hypogeous. Usually in deciduous woodland with Fagus and Fraxinus. Rarely with conifers such as Pinus spp. and Taxus.

Notes: Occasional but widespread in England and a single collection from Wales (Caernarvonshire) in herb. K.
