Habitat: On decayed wood of deciduous trees. Frequently on fallen trunks of Prunus avium but also known on Alnus, Betula, Corylus, Fagus, Fraxinus and Quercus spp. A single collection from a pile of decayed coniferous sawdust.

Notes: Occasional but apparently widespread in England. Also collected from Wales (Denbighshire: Coed Coch, and Monmouthshire: Abergavenny, St. Mary's Vale). The identitiy of Agaricus curvipes Pers. is uncertain and more fully discussed by Holec (2001).
