Habitat: On dry sandy soil, often amongst suckers of Ulmus spp., but also reported with other trees such as Cupressus macrocarpa, Fagus, Fraxinus, Quercus spp., and Taxus.
Notes: Rarely reported but recently found in several new sites in southern and eastern England and in the Channel Islands. Possibly conspecific with the continental European Battarrea stevenii, which would provide an earlier name.
