Habitat: On small fallen branches or sticks of deciduous trees. Most often reported on Corylus, Fagus, Fraxinus and Salix spp. Also known on Acer pseudoplatanus, Alnus, Buddleja sp., Castanea, Crataegus spp., Prunus spinosa, Quercus and Rosa spp., Sambucus nigra, Sorbus aria, Ulex europaeus and Ulmus spp. Rare on conifers; known on Abies, Larix, Picea and Pinus spp.

Notes: Very common and widespread.
