Habitat: On soil in deciduous woodland and scrub, and occasionally on mulched flowerbeds in parks and gardens.
Notes: Rarely reported but widespread. Following BFF3, the relatively robust species illustrated under this name in B&K4: 316, pl. 401 is here distinguished as Conocybe rugosa.
