Habitat: On acidic soil in grassland such as fields, roadside verges and lawns.

Notes: Known from England (Lancashire, North Hampshire, South Lincolnshire, South Wiltshire and Surrey), Scotland (Easterness) and the Republic of Ireland (Co. Dublin). Often confused with bluing variants of Psilocybe semilanceata which it closely resembles.
