Habitat: On decayed leaf litter in deciduous woodland. Especially frequent on large drifts of leaves of Fagus in beechwoods on calcareous soil. Rarely reported with conifers such as Picea and Thuja spp.
Notes: Common, at least in southern and south-eastern England. Occasional and less frequently reported elsewhere.
