Habitat: Teleomorph recorded on decayed vegetable debris, wood, leaf litter, soil and also on living leaves and stems of various herbaceous plants. Anamorph isolated from soil, from crops, and from orchid mycorrhiza.

AG3 causes 'black scurf' disease of potatoes. Recorded from Northern Ireland by Chand & Logan (TBMS 82(4): 615-619, 1984).

Distribution: E: c, S: !, W: !, NI: !

Vouchers: England: K(M) 29801; Scotland: K(M) 29804
