Habitat: On dead and decayed wood of deciduous trees and shrubs. Most commonly reported on Corylus and Fagus. Also known on Aesculus, Acer campestre, Alnus, Betula, Castanea, Prunus avium, P. padus, Quercus spp., Rhododendron ponticum, Salix, Sambucus nigra, Sorbus aucuparia and Ulmus spp.

Notes: Occasional in England and Scotland. Rarely reported elsewhere.
