Amanita ovoidea (Bull.) Quél., Handbuck zur Erkennung der Nutzbarsten und am Häufigsten Vorkommenden Gewächse 3: 273 (1833)

Agaricus ovoideus Bull., Herb. Fr. (Paris) 8: tab. 364 (1788) [1787-1788]

Habitat: On calcareous soil in deciduous woodland. British material is associated with Quercus spp.

Notes: Known from North Wiltshire and Isle of Wight. Basidiomes are usually large and unlikely to be overlooked, thus probably genuinely rare in Britain.
