Habitat: Teleomorph recorded on decaying wood and leaf litter of deciduous trees, on dying or moribund fern fronds, and also on living leaves of herbaceous and woody plants. Anamorph isolated from soil, from crops, and from orchid mycorrhiza.
Notes: The teleomorph is rarely recorded, but the anamorph has been widely reported as the cause of 'sharp eye spot' in cereals.
