Habitat: On decayed wood of deciduous trees. Reported on Betula spp. and Fagus.
Notes: Known from Leicestershire, Mid-Lancashire, Surrey, Warwickshire and West Kent. Often confused with P. semibulbosus sensu Gillet (1874: 395) (= P. plautus).
