Habitat: On dead attached or fallen wood of deciduous trees, often large fallen trunks of Fagus. Also known on Acer pseudoplatanus, A. campestre, Alnus, Betula, Fraxinus, Ilex, Prunus avium, Salix and Tilia spp. Reported on other hosts but these are unverified.
