Habitat: On soil, associated with conifers. British material reported with Picea sp. or Taxus.
Notes: Known from Surrey (Kew Gardens) and possibly also Yorkshire. Reported from Scotland (Mid-Ebudes: Isle of Mull) but the material in herb. E is labelled Agaricus aff. altipes.
