Habitat: On living trunks of Taxus usually in areas of mixed woodland on calcareous soil.
Notes: Known from East Gloucestershire, East Sussex, Hertfordshsire, Middlesex, North & South Hampshire, Surrey, West Kent and West Sussex, and from Stirlingshire. Usually reported as Ganoderma valesiacum but this is a central European species, unknown in Britain, and restricted to Larix spp. fide Ryvarden and Gilbertson (EurPoly1).
