Habitat: On garden soil, especially where mixed with decayed woodchips (as on flowerbeds), but also occasionally in parkland or deciduous woodland.

Notes: An introduction, currently scarce but apparently spreading in southern and south-western England (reported from Bedfordshire to West Cornwall), probably with the increased use of woodchip mulch in gardens. Native to Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.
