Geastrum bryantii Berk., in Smith, Engl. fl. Edn 2 (London) 5(2): 300 (1836)

Habitat: In parkland, gardens, dunes and cemeteries. Often on calcareous loam soil (but also on acidic soil), with conifers such as Cedrus, Larix and Pinus spp., and Taxus but also known with deciduous trees and shrubs such as Crataegus, Fagus, Ligustrum vulgare and Ulmus spp. There are also several collections from 'compost' and 'cool greenhouses'.
