Habitat: Saptrotrophic. On soil, often amongst mosses, in coniferous woodland, apparently on mummified remnants of large agarics, or where these have totally decayed.
Notes: Rarely reported or collected but widespread. Easily overlooked and probably more frequent than the limited records suggest.
