Habitat: On decayed wood of deciduous trees such as Castanea and Salix spp., and occasionally reported from old structural timbers in buildings.

Notes: Known from Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, North Wiltshire, Nottinghamshire and West Kent. Reported from Scotland (Easterness) in 1927 and Wales (Denbighshire) in 1910 but unsubstantiated with voucher material.
