Cortinarius damascenus Fr., Epicr. syst. mycol. (Uppsala): 304 (1838) [1836-1838]

Habitat: On soil, in deciduous woodland. British material associated with Betula spp.

Notes: A single collection from Fermanagh (Kilgarrow Woods) in 2000. Reported from England in 1945 and Scotland in 1912, but these records are dubious and unsubstantiated with voucher material.
