Habitat: On dead or decayed wood of deciduous trees, usually large fallen trunks of Fagus and rarely Salix spp.

Notes: Known from England (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, West Kent and Yorkshire) and Scotland (Midlothian). Reported from East Gloucestershire, South Hampshire and Wales (Glamorganshire and Denbighshire) but unsubstantiated with voucher material.
