Habitat: On soil in greenhouses in botanic gardens, also outdoors on fermenting piles of woodchips, stable-waste, compost or manure.
Notes: Known from England (Berkshire, Dorset, Leicestershire, North Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, South Devon, South Essex, Surrey, Warwickshire, West Cornwall and West Kent). Possibly a naturalised alien, apparently increasing.
