Agaricus subtortus Pers., Syn. meth. fung. (Göttingen) 2: 284 (1801)

Habitat: On soil in coniferous or mixed woodland. British material associated with Betula and Pinus spp.

Notes: Known from Scotland (Easterness). Reported from England (South Hampshire) but unsubstantiated with voucher material.
