Habitat: On soil (often calcareous loam) in mixed deciduous woodland. Usually associated with Corylus or Fagus.

Notes: Occasional but may be locally frequent in southern England, rarely reported elsewhere. Following FNE2 this includes L. britannicus (but non sensu Basso, 1999).
