Habitat: Most often reported on dead stems of ferns such as Dryopteris spp. and Pteridium. Rarely on decayed wood of Betula spp., and conifers such as Larix, Pinus and Picea spp.

Notes: Rarely reported. Known from central and southern England and the Channel Islands (Jersey). Basidiomes are small, cryptically coloured and inconspicuous.
