Habitat: On bare soil, large dead herbaceous stems such as Arctium lappa and Digitalis purpurea and decayed wood of Acer pseudoplatanus and Fraxinus.

Notes: Known from Co. Durham, Hertfordshire, Herefordshire, Surrey, Warwickshire, West Norfolk and Yorkshire. A single collection in herb. K., from the Republic of Ireland, is annotated as 'cf.' E. laetum. Probably genuinely rare, the rose-pink basidiomes conspicuous and unlikely to be overlooked.
