Habitat: On soil in woodland, parkland, hedgerows, gardens, dunes, cemeteries and reported from old spoil heaps. Usually associated with conifers such as Cedrus, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, Cupressus macrocarpa, Juniperus, Pinus, Picea spp. and Taxus but also with deciduous trees such as Crataegus, Fagus and Fraxinus.

Notes: Occasional but apparently widespread in England, rarely reported elsewhere.
